Gotham Episode 2 “Selina Kyle” Review

Gotham

So this week’s Gotham episode is called Selina Kyle. Don’t fret, it’s not like the whole thing is a flash back episode, rather it moves forward from where we left off from the pilot.

Gotham Pilot Episode Review

Gotham

Gotham? Batman? Where is Batman?

Well, no Batman yet, we are way too early to see the Dark Knight in the set of Gotham. Bruce Wayne is not even in high school.

What we do get is the origin story for several Batman characters like James “Jim” Gordon (Ben McKenzie) who is a returning soldier and is a rookie detective on GCPD (quite far from his Commissioner days that we know from Batman: The Animated series and the other Batman movies that we’ve seen him in) alongside Detective Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue), Bruce Wayne (Davis Mazouz), Alfred Penny Worth (Sean Pertwee), Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova), Barbara Kean (Erin Richards), Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith), Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor), Renee Montoya (Victoria Cartagena), Carmine Falcone (John Doman), Ivy Pepper(Clare Foley) and an unidentified role to be played by Sara Paxton. Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) is not in the original Batman mythos (the ones that i’ve read) and i’m treating her as a new character.

If you still haven’t seen the episode (which I personally think you should), careful for spoilers from the episode.

Ready? Here we go! Continue reading
